    The ETA 2834-2 is an automatic movement with a day-and-date calendar, and sources consistently identify it as the caliber used in this reference. One specification database lists 29 mm movement diameter, 5.05 mm thickness and 25 jewels.

    Design

    The watch has a fairly conservative dress-watch aesthetic: a silver dial, polished stainless-steel case, traditional index markers and a brown leather strap. The day and date displays are the defining practical feature of the dial. The transparent back allows the wearer to see the automatic movement.

    This is an important part of the watch's appeal. The ETA 2834-2 is a Swiss automatic movement based on ETA's 28xx family and is specifically designed to provide day and date indications.
